	Tom - Moderator An open source advocate. Having observed many verification methodologies over the past 18 years, it recently became clear that traditional verification point tools and compartmentalized verification management are no longer ingredients for success. Tom is a strong believer in methodologies and tools that provide a greater good to the success of the entire organization and that reorganization at the implementation level is often required to make "new generation" tools and methodologies successful.. Tom has held various verification and verification management positions with Broadcom, Verisity and Motorola. Tom most recently directed and trained a team in Broadcom developing reusable environments with Specman and some Vera. Fundamental issues began to surface, In search of change, Tom developed an internal Broadcom users group to investigate the virtues of SystemC as a replacement for Specman and Vera.
